The Disney-ABC Television Group has called upon Sprint for a multiyear partnership that will offer Sprint customers ABC Entertainment, ABC News and the Disney Channel content on demand and via three “linear” mobile channels that will run a constant stream of scheduled programming throughout the day.
One of those channels is the newly created ABC Mobile, which will feature full-length and short-form news and entertainment from “Good Morning America,” “World News With Charles Gibson,” “Nightline,” “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” and other ABC News specials, as well as full-length episodes of “Desperate Housewives,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Lost” and “Ugly Betty.”
ABC also has created ABC News Now, an around-the-clock linear channel that will provide live, breaking news coverage along with original news, lifestyle and entertainment shows.
Disney’s channel will include full-length episodes of “Hannah Montana,” “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody,” “Cory in the House” and “Kim Possible.”
Customers accessing the VOD option will be able to view shows the day after their television premiere along with up to the four most recently televised episodes of each series.
The Disney-ABC Television Group content can be accessed through the Sprint Power Vision TV Pack, and Disney Channel content will be available as part of the Power Vision Access Pack. Customers will pay an additional fee per month for both services.
