In this week’s exclusive Backlot Talk, showrunner and executive producer Howard Gordon confirmed plans for a “24” feature film, but warned it wouldn’t come until after the television show has run its course.
“I don’t think it will happen as long as Jack Bauer is the center of the ’24’ television franchise,” he said. “As long as he’s on air we’re going to keep that segregated, and once the show concludes and Jack Bauer graduates from the television series, we’ll see him in a movie.”
Fox just ordered two more seasons of “24.”
With the current season just concluded Monday, fans won’t have to wait until January 2008 for their “24” fix. Mr. Gordon divulged plans for a Flash animation prequel to the series, “Day 0,” set a year before the show’s first season.
To find out what characters are confirmed to return in that prequel and the fate of President Logan, plus to find out where the American Express exclusive “Executive Debrief” fits in with the series’ chronology and to hear Mr. Gordon answer many more questions from “24” fans, listen to the complete interview, at TVWeek.com’s Backlot Talk.
