MGM Names Marenzi Worldwide Television Co-President

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios has tapped the talents of veteran television executive Gary Marenzi as the company’s new co-president of worldwide television where he will share responsibilities of the division with Jim Packer.
Under the new appointment, Mr. Marenzi will focus his efforts on the international marketplace, while Packer will focus on television distribution, channels and digital media for North America, working closely with MGM Executive Vice President of Worldwide Digital Media, Douglas A. Lee. The co-presidents will report directly to MGM Chief Operating Officer Rick Sands.
“We are pleased to have Gary rejoining the MGM team. His vast knowledge of the marketplace and his prior experience with distributing the MGM assets will bolster our leadership position in television around the world,” said Mr. Sands. “By teaming Gary with Jim, we now have assembled a formidable team that will grow MGM’s business worldwide.”
Prior to joining MGM, Mr. Marenzi served as president of Ensequence, Inc. where he spearheaded efforts to develop interactive television programming applications worldwide in addition to his position as founder and president of strategic management firm Marenzi & Associates. Prior to that, he held the position of president of International Television for Paramount Pictures for seven years.
“MGM boasts incredible TV assets and the international marketplace offers vast opportunities to distribute product and form additional long-standing alliances that will benefit MGM for years to come,” said Mr. Marenzi. “Working alongside Jim and utilizing our complementary skills, we will aggressively expand our distribution reach and product offerings.”
