Blinkx, Lycos Team Up

Jun 25, 2007  •  Post A Comment

Video search service Blinkx extended its relationship with Web destination lycos.com in a deal that now lets Lycos users create video playlists. Lycos has integrated Blinkx into its so-called “Lycos Mix” service at mix.lycos.com which enables visitors to assemble video from YouTube, MySpace, Google and other Web sites to create their own video compilations.
With the Blinkx integration, users can now search for and create the playlists without needing to leave the site.
Lycos has been working with Blinkx since August 2006 to power video search across the Lycos network.
The video search business is starting to heat up. Last week, video search upstart CastTV said it had inked a two-year deal to power video search for TV Guide’s online video guide.
