‘Dance’ Continues Ratings Revolution

“So You Think You Can Dance” continued to lead Fox to Thursday night victory, while its similarly antagonistically titled lead-in “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader” hit a series low.
“Dance” had a 4.2 rating among adults 18 to 49, according to preliminary Nielsens, and “Grader” had a 2.9. Fox won the night in the demo and among households.
In second place, ABC debuted the half-hour stock car racing reality series “Fast Cars & Superstars” to a sluggish 1.9, but Game 1 of the NBA Finals (Cleveland at San Antonio) was the second most-viewed program of the evening with a 3.3.
On CBS, “Pirate Master” viewership was cut adrift, sinking 17 percent from last week (1.9). The only other original program was on fourth-place NBC, which ran off one of the remaining episodes of “Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip” (1.7).
