The A&E Network, which is returning to the original scripted drama business after several years of reality programming, has ordered pilots on two new series.
The shows are tentatively titled “The Beast” and “The Cleaner.” Both orders are cast-contingent.
“The Beast” is about an FBI veteran who trains a new partner while being pursued by a secret internal affairs team. It will be produced by Sony Pictures Television for A&E.
“The Cleaner,” based on a real life intervention specialist who has a team that helps people kick their addictions, will be produced by CBS Paramount Television.
“We are excited to advance to the next stage in bringing new original scripted series back to A&E,” said Tana Jamieson, senior VP of drama programming for A&E. “These projects all feature strong and unique central characters and high-profile producers with a history of success in the genre.”
