KCET, NBC4 Top L.A. Emmy Awards

Southern California public television station KCET, NBC4 and CBS2 were the top winners Saturday night at the Los Angeles area 59th annual Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Emmy Awards.
KCET and NBC4 took home six Emmys, including a news writer Emmy for NBC4’s Mary Harris, and a non-news writer one for KCET’s John Ridley.
CBS2 and sister station KCAL9 won four Emmys jointly, including an award for live coverage of the Esperanza fire. CBS2 was awarded three awards solely. “The CBS2 News at 11 p.m.” won an Emmy for daily news program between zero and 35 minutes.
Telemundo affiliate KVEA 52 received the Los Angeles area Governors Award for its daily newscast series, “Mejorando Su Vida,” (Improving Your Life). The Govenors Award honors broadcast achievement in the L.A. market.
Presenting the awards this year were several local news and programming talent, including “Desperate Housewives’” Kathryn Joosten and eclectic musical act the Blue Man Group.

  1. I just want to say I think CBS has lost it sending Katie,I don”t think she’ll make look what happened to Bob,but try as they may it won’t bring up her viwership!! Dave -Detroit
