DIC Entertainment has tapped Kirk Bloomgarden as executive VP of global sales. Effective Jan. 1, he will oversee the company’s worldwide television, home entertainment and consumer products divisions.
Bloomgarden joins DIC from the pan-European licensing agency Copyright Promotions, which was acquired by DIC in June 2006. Bloomgarden has been CEO of the company since 2000, overseeing the management of leading brands including Care Bears, Peanuts, Pink Panther, Shrek, Spider-Man, Strawberry Shortcake, the Simpsons and WWE.
“Kirk has been responsible for building Copyright Promotions into Europe’s leading licensing agency, as well as overseeing the growth and success of many iconic brands over the past years, and we are thrilled to have his expertise and leadership skills onboard to guide our efforts in developing our roster of properties into global brand names,” said Andy Heyward, DIC’s chairman-CEO. “We are experiencing one of the most exciting stages of growth since DIC launched 25 years ago, and we look forward to Kirk’s leadership to drive DIC’s presence in the marketplace.”
Mr. Bloomgarden will work with executives from each DIC division in addition to third-party partners, rights holders and licensees to manage each of DIC’s brands and to oversee the implementation of strategic brand plans including Strawberry Shortcake, McDonald’s, Dino Squad, Horseland, Cake, Mommy & Me and Madeline.
“DIC has offered me an amazing and challenging opportunity to expand upon the solid foundation that the DIC team has built these past few years, and I am excited to play a role in DIC’s continued efforts to grow into a global brand management leader,” said Mr. Bloomgarden. “I am proud of the success and growth of Copyright Promotions and will be transitioning the company leadership into very capable hands.”

  1. Greetings, You should be aware that your blog is not displaying properly on my Samsung Slider. Although, I’m now browsing this article on my notebook, thank you

  2. You should consider writing a suggestion of other posts for people like me. I found your site yesterday when I was browsing, but I’m not really into the blog thing. I don’t think it’s because I don’t like blogs, but just because I’m a little slow to them.

  3. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

  4. Essentially the most prevalent trouble to setting ambitions would be the phrase hard. Most persons get hung up considering I cannot do that. It really is as well laborious. It really is far too not possible. Nobody can try this.

  5. I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.. 🙂
