DirecTV said Bridgetta Tomarchio is the winner of its search for a new woman to join the cast of its original show “Project My World.”
Ms. Tomarchio joins Renee Intlekofer and Shaina Fewell for the series’ second season of searching the globe for the best independent bands, as suggested by their friends on MySpace.
The women also speed-date through New Zealand and Australia in the new season, which will premiere Oct. 1 on DirecTV’s original entertainment channel, The 101.
“‘Project My World’ debuted last year and it quickly became one of our most successful programs on The 101,” said Patty Ishimoto, the channel’s general manager. “The 101 strives to create original programming that speaks directly to the DirecTV customer and gives them the type of shows they can’t get anywhere else.
“With ‘Project My World,’ viewers enjoyed the unaffected documentation and fresh storytelling which is absent from most present-day reality shows,” she continued. “Season two ramps things up a few notches with even more action, adventure and drama as the girls explore a new part of the globe and welcome Bridgetta, a feisty new partner, to the group.”
Ms. Tomarchio was chosen during an open casting call. DirecTV will air a special on the search today.
