Yahoo!’s Internet concert series, sponsored by Nissan, will become a monthly show on MTV’s high definition channel.
“Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music,” will appear on MHD beginning Sept. 17 with a performance by Rascal Flatts.
The show tapes twice monthly for the web and appears at music.yahoo.com and Nissanlivesets.com.
Video and music from the show are available on-demand on the sites, as well as photos and blogs. One show will be chosen each month to appear on MHD as a 30 minute convert that includes questions from fans.
Past performers of “Nissan Live Sets on Yahoo! Music” include Christina Aguilera, John Legend, Incubus, Beck, Velvet Revolver, Maroon 5, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Chris Cornell, Nas, Common, Lifehouse, Melissa Etheridge and The Stooges.
“Consumers are very accustomed to seeing television content pushed on the internet, but this collaboration with MHD allows Nissan and Yahoo! to be the first companies to do the opposite – show high definition web content on television,” said Steve Kerho, director of Media & Interactive Marketing for Nissan. “At Nissan, we are constantly trying to stay ahead of the curve and this partnership is a perfect reflection of that.”
