Worldwide Pants, late-night funnyman David Letterman’s 14-year-old production company, is getting serious in its first documentary, a film about five American teens running for public office in several states.
“Our company believes that creativity comes in all forms, and we’re excited about how this project portrays young people taking control of their own destinies in a way that’s both innovative and inspiring,” said Worldwide President and CEO Rob Burnett in the announcement Monday.
Production starts this weekend on the still-untitled project, which will be produced with Oscar winning Lawrence Bender (“An Inconvenient Truth” and “Pulp Fiction”) and Balance Vector Productions. Jason Pollock, a former personal assistant to filmmaker Michael Moore, makes his directing debut on the film.
In addition to “Late Show With David Letterman” and “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson,” Worldwide Pants has several comedy, animation, variety/talk and feature projects in active development.
The company’s previous network productions include “Everybody Loves Raymond,” “Ed” and “The Knights of Prosperity.”

  1. Glad to see our Mr. Letterman taking a step into such ventures…(Like Mr. Clooney, he can make us laugh and think)…and THAT’s the way of life…using his clout to make some statements he believes in…works for me…

  2. I had to refresh the page 2 times to view this page for some reason, however, the information on here was worth the wait. I loved that it is also really easy to read for the eyes.

  3. I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one these days.. 🙂

  4. What host are you using? Site loads very slowly for me.

  5. I like the journalism relevancy of your site and it does a pretty decent work of presenting the info.
