Matthew Braatz has been promoted to an expanded role as senior VP of technology and operations for the NBC owned-and-operated television stations.
Mr. Braatz, who had been VP of technology for the NBC Universal stations since 2005, will report to John Wallace, president of NBC Universal’s 10-station English-language group.
Mr. Braatz will oversee engineering, operations, IT and technology efforts for the group and will work with other stations divisions, including the digital team and out-of-home sales group, to identify growth opportunities and synergies.
“Matt is a great fit for this role,” Mr. Wallace said in Wednesday’s announcement. “He has tremendous knowledge of our core stations business, but also great understanding of how new technology can be used to further our local growth in today’s digital media environment.”
Mr. Braatz joined the group in 1997 as news operations manager for flagship station WNBC-TV in New York.
