Noted sportswriter Rick Reilly has left Sports Illustrated and will be joining ESPN.
At ESPN, Mr. Reilly will be writing a back-page column for ESPN The Magazine and another regular column for ESPN.com. He also will appear on “SportsCenter” as an analyst and contribute to ESPN’s coverage of major golf tournaments.
Mr. Reilly will be taking a sabbatical when his Sports Illustrated deal expires at the end of November. He starts at ESPN June 1.
“Rick has been a premier voice of sports commentary for more than 20 years, and we are thrilled and honored to add his considerable talents to ESPN’s outlets,” said John Skipper, ESPN’s executive VP for content. “The outstanding insights, reporting and humor of his weekly column will continue, and fans will now be able to enjoy Rick’s work through television.”
Last week, longtime ESPN anchor Dan Patrick agreed to join Sports Illustrated.
