‘Lost’ Webisodes Could Form WGA Deal Template
Two to three minutes Internet episodes of a backstory for ABC’s “Lost,” called “Lost: Missing Pieces,” is compensating its writer very similarly to what WGA picketers are asking for, the New York Times reports. Some Optimistic About Writer-Producer Talks
Industry insiders are saying the upcoming talks between the Writers Guild of America and the Association of Motion Picture and Television Producers occurring next week are more geared toward making headway than a PR move, Daily Variety reports. The two sides are enacting a media blackout in order to focus more on negotiations and today’s WGA demonstrations are the last until after the Thanksgiving weekend, Variety says.
Picket Lines Respond to Negotiating News
The mood of Monday’s WGA picket lines was good after it was announced last week that writers and producers would head back to the bargaining table next week, the Hollywood Reporter says. Television production assistants turned out to picket at the Fox lot, the Reporter says.
