ITV on Monday tapped Twentieth Television’s Paul Buccieri as president-CEO of Granada America. Mr. Buccieri most recently was president of programming, production and development for Twentieth.
Mr. Buccieri will report to ITV’s managing director of global content, Dawn Airey. He replaces David Gyngell, who returned to Australia earlier this year to become chief executive of the Nine Network.
“Granada America is a leading international producer for the U.S. market. I’m very excited to be joining this great company and work with Dawn and its talented team in L.A., New York and London,” said Mr. Buccieri. “I’m looking forward to further building Granada America’s success in non-scripted while expanding its interests in other areas.”
As CEO, he will lead a team of producers in the U.S., on both the west and east coasts, with a remit to further develop ITV’s growing U.S. business interests through the creation of new series and formats.
He’ll also be responsible for the exploitation of other ITV formats created in the company’s production centers in the U.K., Germany and Australia.
Mr. Buccieri will have a seat on the board of Jaffe Braunstein Entertainment, Granada’s partner in the scripted business in the U.S.
He will be based at Granada America’s Los Angeles operation.
“I am delighted that we have attracted someone of Paul’s caliber to this important position,” Ms. Airey said. “This is a critical role in ensuring ITV’s international growth by creating and delivering high-quality content to American audiences, and Paul has a superb track record in producing hit shows for the U.S. networks. Building on the success of the team there, we want Granada America to grow even further, and I look forward to working closely with Paul to deliver that growth.”
