Jennifer Davidson, 38, senior VP of programming and scheduling at Cartoon Network, died unexpectedly on Saturday morning due to a sudden illness.
The wife and mother of three was one of the first 15 people hired at Cartoon Network, starting as a production/operations assistant, when the channel launched in 1992.
“We have lost a shining star, not only at Cartoon Network, but within our industry,” said Stuart Snyder, executive VP and chief operating officer for Turner Broadcasting System Inc.’s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media group.
Promoted to the senior VP position in Sept. 2007, Ms. Davidson held several positions at CN, including VP of marketing, ad trade, consumer products trade and strategic operations and was part of the team that launched Adult Swim in Sept. 2001.
She has also served as VP of on-air promotion, production and operations, where she became executive producer of the launch of Boomerang, CN’s classic cartoon spinoff network.
Ms. Davidson graduated from Virginia Tech in 1991 with a bachelor of arts in broadcast communications.
She is survived by her husband John and her three children, Mitchell, Oliver and Harper, as well as her parents, John and Bobbie Stitt, two sisters, a brother and her extended family.

  1. Sorry to hear about her passing at such a young age. My colleagues at Toon Zone recently interviewed her, and she seemed like a very knowledgable individual. We all hoped that she’d be the catalyst for a turn in the right direction at CN, but alas, she left too soon.
Mrs. Davidson will be missed by all.

  2. @person below – you could be wrong. just sayin’ … !

  3. I am not in truth positive if best tactics include emerged nearly things similar to that, but I am sure that your large work is visibly recognized. I was thinking if you offer any subscription near your RSS feeds since I would be extremely concerned.
