Mark EffronMark Effron has been promoted to president and COO of Titan TV Media.
Mr. Effron joined Titan as senior VP last May after four years as MSNBC’s daytime programming VP.
In his newly created role, he will oversee the company’s Media Star, Titan TV Guide and Titan TV Network, the latter aimed at connecting local media and advertisers to the digital world.
He will report to Jack Perry, the founder and CEO of Titan TV, which seeks to revolutionize the way TV content is searched, managed, delivered and watched on the Internet. The change means Mr. Perry will be free to focus on long-rage planning for the 11-year-old company.
“Mark has the talent, management background and savvy to guide Titan’s transition from a technology company to a content provider and digital platform,” Mr. Perry said in Friday’s announcement. “I am thrilled he will be running the day-to-day operations of the company and be leading our terrific team in finding new products and programs that will help our partners generate new revenues in the years to come.”
“My background in news and broadcasting management and Jack’s unparalleled experience in media technology mesh well and make us ideal partners to help local broadcasters and producers of syndicated TV content find ways to monetize content in this new digital world,” said Mr. Effron, a veteran Post-Newsweek stations executive prior to joining MSNBC. “Jack’s been a mentor as well as a true visionary in foreseeing the intersections of technology and content. I’ll be relying on him enormously to guide us through the ever-changing media landscape.”
