Atlas Media Names Frasca VP, Development

Laura Frasca has been promoted to vice president of development at Atlas Media Corp., the company announced today. Ms. Frasca previously was the company’s director of development.
“Lauren’s well-earned promotion recognizes her creativity and devotion to her craft. She has contributed greatly to the growth of our company,” said Kaki Kirby, executive VP of business development at Atlas.
Atlas is an independent producer of nonfiction content, distributed across channels including the History Channel, GSN, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Health, A&E, PBS, Travel Channel, Fuse, Disney Channel, TLC, USA and Food Network.
At Atlas, which she joined in 2005 as a development executive, Ms. Frasca has played a key role in developing shows including “Art Attack!” for the Travel Channel and National Geo’s “Who Knew?”

Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.
