Time Warner Renews Hallmark Deal

Crown Media Holdings said Thursday it reached a new multiyear distribution deal with Time Warner Cable to continue to deliver Hallmark Channel to 12 million subscribers.
The new deal also allows Time Warner Cable to carry Hallmark Movie Channel in both standard definition and high definition.
Hallmark has been negotiating with several carriers to renew carriage deals that expired at the end of 2007. Those deals paid Crown little or no subscriber fees, and the company has been trying to increase its subscriber revenue.
Financial terms of the Time Warner Cable deal were not disclosed.
“We are delighted to announce the news of the renewal of our affiliation agreement with Time Warner Cable,” said Henry Schleiff, president-CEO of Crown Media. “This agreement is a sign of our mutual respect and desire to provide quality, fair price and service to our subscribers and viewers.”
“We’re pleased that we were able to reach a mutually beneficial agreement for the Hallmark Channel, which carries both a strong brand and highly rated programming,” said Melinda Witmer, executive VP and chief programming officer for Time Warner Cable.

  1. Hopefully Hallmark will be on all time warner stations. I have been so tired of so much violence on tv and could not understand why hallmark was not being shown. Please let the public know when this is going to take place. I didn’t see a date in the article. Thank you.
