Regional sports network FSN New York is being rebranded as MSG Plus.
The Cablevision Systems-owned network carries New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders hockey games and will continue to air sports and other programming from Fox Sports Net. Fox Sister network MSG carries the New York Knicks and Rangers, which are also owned by Cablevision. News Corp. used to own a stake in FSN New York.
The change is effective March 10, when the network will air the exhibition tennis match taking place at Madison Square Garden between Roger Federer and Pete Sampras.
“MSG is a powerful brand. Rebranding FSNY as MSG Plus capitalizes on the unprecedented MSG brand value and recognition, and helps to establish a stronger correlation between our two television networks,” Michael Bair, president of MSG Media, said in a statement. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with Fox and providing top quality sports programming on MSG Plus, as well as adding more original shows that capture the voice of the New York sports fan.”

I have been watching Tennis this week at 4pm. It is really a shame the way this station cuts off the 3rd set of important and great and exciting games. Did it ever occurr to anyone to continue on another station (a sister station) perhaps? It has been very trying even sitting down to watch a decent match, knowing it will be cut right off when you least expect it. Just giving my opinion, I was happy to see that you had tennis on, but I am very dissappointed on your programming or lack of it. Thank you.

Cutting of the most important points from a tennis match is insulting and deserves to be condemned. I dont have msg 2 so i cant watch the rest of the match. Dont show tennis if you wont show all of it.

I thought Chanda Rubin and Justin Gimelstob were outstanding as commentators at the Pacific Life Open.
I couldn’t believe it when, in the middle of a game in the final set of the men’s final match, the program abruptly switched to hockey.
What is this?
You cut off an exciting tennis match between top-rated players in the middle of a tiebreaker, no warning, no explanation and never mentioned since. What disrespect! Whoever made that decision should be fired immediately. The tennis fans deserve an apology and a coherent explanation.
