Hulu Beefs Up for Official Launch

The NBC-Fox online video joint venture Hulu inked several new film and TV studio deals in time for its official launch Wednesday.
The site has been operating as a beta for the last several months and goes live Wednesday with content from NBC and Fox as well as Warner Bros. Television Group, Lionsgate, the National Basketball Association and the National Hockey League. Hulu’s new deals will bring films including “The Usual Suspects” and “Ice Age” to the service.
The site, at www.hulu.com, offers video from more than 50 broadcast networks, cable networks, film studios and Web producers. TV content includes both library titles and current shows.
According to eMarketer, 27% of online video viewers have watched full-length TV episodes online.
