When it introduces its first original scripted series in years, the A&E cable network will be using a new slogan, “Real Life. Drama.”
The network, which along with sibling History holds its upfront presentation for advertisers Monday night, is launching the drama “The Cleaner” over the summer.
At the upfront, A&E Television Networks CEO Abbe Raven plans to announce that the company will be spending more than $650 million on new content across its networks.
With its new slogan, A&E Network appears to be taking on Turner Broadcasting’s TNT and its top-rated series “The Closer.” TNT has been saying “We Know Drama” for years.
A&E also said it plans to air three new reality shows:
–“The Squad” looks at the police inside the Tehachapi maximum security prison in California.
–“Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal” will serve as a companion to the network’s returning “Paranormal State.”
–“Jacked!” looks at the tactics used to catch car thieves.
