Jeff Berman has been promoted to president of sales and marketing at MySpace.
Mr. Berman most recently was the company’s executive vice president of marketing and content. Before joining MySpace in 2005, he was a private political consultant following his work as a public defender and as chief counsel to U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
In his new position, Mr. Berman will be responsible for online marketing, ad solutions and branded sales for the social networking site, a unit of Fox Interactive.
“Jeff has shown a tremendous ability to step into any leadership role at MySpace and thrive,” Chris DeWolfe, co-founder of MySpace, said in a statement Monday. “He has been the driving force behind some of MySpace’s most successful and innovative branded marketing initiatives, and his passion and supreme knowledge of the online space continue to serve as a crucial asset to our team.”
