Ben Silverman will give his predictions for the 2008 ad sales season in a keynote at TelevisionWeek’s annual Upfront Summit on May 1 in New York City.
The NBC Entertainment/NBCU TV Studios co-chairman will join TelevisionWeek publisher Chuck Ross for a one-on-one discussion of issues facing the television industry in the coming year.
The presentation constitutes the centerpiece of the summit’s three informational panels, designed to prepare television advertising professionals for the upfront season. Topics slated for discussion include the ongoing effects of the Writers Guild of America strike, the new system of commercial ratings and the continuing development of digital and emerging content platforms.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Silverman with us,” said Mr. Ross. “This is a rare East Coast appearance by a man whose name has become synonymous with the new face of television, in the way it’s programmed and consumed. He is truly TV 360º.”
The summit, now in its eighth year, is co-presented by Advertising Age and held at the Roosevelt Hotel from 8:30 a.m. to noon. For tickets, go to www.tvweek.com/upfrontsummit or call (323) 370-2411.
