AMC named Joel Stillerman senior VP of original programming, production and digital content.
Under his predecessor, Rob Sorcher, AMC developed the hits “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad.” Mr. Sorcher left for Cartoon Network last year to become its chief content officer
Mr. Stillerman had been founder of Yolo Films, which produced programming for HBO Films, MTV and VH1.
“Joel will be a key contributor to the network’s overall content strategy and I am confident in his ability to take AMC’s development, creation, and management of content to the next level. His creativity, energy and broad management skills will be a tremendous addition to our business,” said Charlie Collier, executive VP and general manager of AMC, a division of Cablevision Systems’ Rainbow Media.
