Alec Gerster, formerly CEO of media buyer Initiative, has joined Navic Networks as chief marketing officer.
Navic develops interactive television software that enables targeting of commercials to viewers.
“Alec’s extensive experience, perspective and insight will be invaluable as the media landscape continues to evolve with new attention to engagement, measurement and the imminent switch to digital broadcasting in 2009,” said Chet Kanojia, CEO of Navic Networks.
Mr. Gerster will be based in New York, where he has worked in the media business over a 35-year career. Navic is based in Waltham, Mass.
