Interpublic Group of Cos.’ Initiative has named Carolyn Dubi senior VP and director for print, poaching the pro from the Starcom MediaVest Group, where she had led the Samsung account as VP and North American planning director.
The raid comes soon after Richard Beaven, who joined Initiative from MediaVest USA two years ago, ascended to CEO of Initiative North America and made room for Tim Spengler to become the agency’s U.S. president.
“Initiative is a shop that is completely on its way up,” Ms. Dubi said. “We’re seeing this with the new business that they’re winning, the talent they’re bringing in and the elevation that they’re bringing with Tim and Richard Beaven.”
The move makes Ms. Dubi the top print buyer at Initiative. Beth Fidoten, its previous head of print, will report to Ms. Dubi, the agency said.
“I’m a big believer, obviously, in the print industry, but also in how all the different media can work together,” Ms. Dubi said. “And that’s something I hope I can bring to Initiative.”
