The Outdoor Channel has relaunched its Web site to offer more online videos and a social networking component to its viewers.
“We’ve turned OutdoorChannel.com into an interactive platform for outdoor enthusiasts,” Outdoor Channel COO Tom Hornish said. “It’s a virtual one-stop shop for everything about the outdoors. … We believe that this is the perfect platform to promote our linear network.”
Visitors can take a video tour of the site and interact with the different elements, including videos, blogs from Outdoor Channel personalities and reader communities where users can post messages and share different media.
During the site’s testing phase from last December to May, impressions increased by 539% while unique visitors jumped 317%.
