L.A. Area Emmys to Honor Dodgers

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in the hunt for a division win, but they’ve already captured this year’s Governors Award in nominations for the 60th annual Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, announced today.
L.A.’s boys in blue will receive the Governors Award, which is given to persons, companies or organizations who have made an impact on the Los Angeles community.
The Dodgers are celebrating the team’s 50th year in Los Angeles. The longtime voice of the Dodgers, Vin Scully, received the award in 1991.
NBC4 leads the pack in station nominations with 24. NBC4 chalked up multiple nominations in serious news stories, single and multi reports, and received nominations for regularly scheduled news program.
Fox 11 was second with 17 nominations, followed by CW affiliate KTLA with 11 nods.
The awards will be presented Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Leonard H. Goldenson Theater in North Hollywood, Calif.
