TNT Names Weitz VP, Series Development

Brett Weitz has been tapped as TNT’s vice president of series development, based in Los Angeles. He will oversee scripted drama series development for the network.
Mr. Weitz previously was vice president of creative affairs for 20th Century Fox Television’s fox21 Studios division. Before that he was director of drama development for 20th Century Fox Television from 2002 to 2004.
Before joining 20th Century Fox Television, Mr. Weitz was director of drama development for Columbia TriStar Television.
“I had the pleasure of working with Brett on David Manson’s series ‘Saved’ a few years ago and was greatly impressed by his talent and energy. He is an extremely smart executive and a terrific individual. We are thrilled to have him join our team,” Lillah McCarthy, vice president of series programming for TNT and TBS, said in a statement.
