The return of first-run fantasy/sci-fi weekend syndication has an official date. “Wizard’s First Rule” will hit the small screen the weekend of Nov. 1, beginning with a two-hour premiere on stations.
“Adapting Terry Goodkind’s brilliant work for television is a thrilling opportunity,” said Executive Producer Sam Raimi. “The amazing characters and heartfelt story, combined with the captivating backdrop of New Zealand, will have viewers on the edge of their seats.”
The series is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television and ABC Studios and comes from the team behind two series that once were staples in the syndication ranks, “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys” and “Xena: Warrior Princess.”
“Wizard’s” is cleared in 95% of the country, including the top 50 markets.
Craig Horner and Bridget Regan will star.
