Early Democratic Convention Ratings: Biden No Match for Hillary

Aug 28, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Television audiences showed less interest in Joe Biden’s speech accepting the vice presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention yesterday than they did for former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s speech the night before, according to early local ratings returns from Nielsen Media Research.
All the broadcast networks’ numbers fell, with NBC holding the largest audience, based on Nielsen’s overnight metered household ratings from 55 markets. NBC brought in a 4.1 rating/7 share, slipping 16% from Tuesday’s numbers.
ABC’s audience declined 24% to a 2.9/5, while CBS dropped by 11% to a 2.4/4.
Normally, 56 markets would be featured in overnight households, but statistics from Seattle were delayed.
