Another judge is looking to join the court syndication bench, as A. Smith & Co. Productions and Bronx Family Court Judge Marian Shelton are teaming up for production of “Tough Justice With Judge Marian Shelton.”
Judge Shelton, who has worked as a family court judge for the past 10 years, is known for being vocal and outspoken toward people in her courtroom, including lawyers and defendants. According to the New York Daily News, Judge Shelton allegedly has told lawyers to “shut up” and “go to therapy” during court proceedings.
“Judge Marian Shelton is the most intelligent and articulate judge we have ever come across and has no issue telling her court the harsh truth when making her rulings,” executive producer Arthur Smith said in a statement. “Audiences have never seen such brutal honesty on television and we cannot wait to introduce New York’s toughest and most controversial judge to America.”
The production house is expecting “Justice” to be available to the syndication market later in the year.
A. Smith & Co. Productions’ slate includes “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Kitchen Nightmares,” “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” and “Trading Spaces.”
