Lifetime Television will premiere its first original prime-time comedy, “Rita Rocks,” with five episodes airing in one week.
A new episode will air every day at 8:30 p.m. from Oct. 20-25 before the show debuts in its regular Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. time slot on Oct. 28.
“Reba” will lead into the show at 8 p.m.
“We are very excited about ‘Rita Rocks’ and believe that by launching it behind ‘Reba’ for five consecutive nights, we will ensure the widest possible sampling. We hope to build a strong one-hour comedy block by pairing these two very compatible shows,” JoAnn Alfano, executive VP of entertainment for Lifetime Networks, said in a statement.
“Rita Rocks” stars Nicole Sullivan as an overworked mother and wife who forms a garage band to get the spark back in her life.
