Army will play Navy in college football on CBS for 10 more years under a new contract announced by the network Thursday.
Beginning next year, the academies will square off on the second Saturday in December, putting the game at the conclusion of the college football season. This year’s game—the 109th meeting of Army and Navy—will air Dec. 6.
The game also will be streamed live and free on CBSSports.com, where members of the armed forces around the world will be able to watch it.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“The Army-Navy game is a national treasure, and moving the game to the second Saturday in December will, over the next decade, permit the entire nation once again to embrace this great rivalry and its poignant traditions,” said Mike Aresco, executive VP for programming at CBS Sports. “There is no more fitting way to conclude the college football regular season.”
