McCain Gives Letterman Online Boost

Oct 21, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Sen. John McCain’s recent cancellation, and subsequent make-up visit, to the set of CBS’ “The Late Show With David Letterman,” has spurred interest in all things McCain from the show.
The recent McCain drama led to a spike in all of David Letterman’s online clips related to the Republican candidate for president. Since last Thursday’s visit by Sen. McCain, online video clips that have been viewed and shared totaled over 5 million. The actual interview with Sen. McCain alone has delivered more than 1 million views.
Mr. Letterman’s interview with Sen. McCain earned him his biggest broadcast audience since his December 2005 interview with Oprah Winfrey. Sen. McCain’s appearance came on the heels of Mr. Letterman’s constant televised barraging of the senator for his abrupt cancellation of an appearance on the show just a few weeks ago on the eve of the financial meltdown.

  1. I saw her in an scripted interview last night regarding Relgion – she might want to explain what she is doing practicing witchcraft in the you tube video. She acts like we are stupid everyone has seen this video. Are we ever going to get an answer on this. I am just curious – what was she doing there?
She really is out of touch with reality. I can understand how Alaska overlooks this, but the rest of the world is not that stupid.

  4. This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like ‘Mixview’ that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you’re listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of “neighbors” will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune “Social” is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.
