Remember that little thing earlier this year called the writers strike? It’s been over for a long time now, but some of the businesses that formed during the strike are just starting to get up and running. Like Strike.tv—the site that was founded by a group of Hollywood writers, directors and actors back in January officially launched Oct. 28 with about 10 original Web series. Strike.tv plans to expand those offerings to 40 series in the next few months, and says the current schedule calls for rolling out about two new shows per week, along with shorts and new episodes of ongoing series. The New Media Minute explains what it will take for Strike.tv to be successful. In this week’s edition, you’ll also learn what men and women are reading online, based on the findings of a recent USC study.
