SoapNet has added three new series to its slate for 2009.
The reality series “Greg Behrendt’s Wake-Up Call,” which focuses on a different couple’s issues each week, will premiere Jan. 8 at 11 p.m.
Mr. Behrendt, a consultant on HBO series “Sex and the City” and co-author of “He’s Just Not That Into You,” also will host a series of interstitials throughout SoapNet’s six-week “Sugar-Free Valentines” programming event, which kicks off with “Wake-Up Call’s” premiere.
The network also has ordered the scripted drama “Being Erica” and 10 one-hour episodes of the docusoap “Southern Belles.”
“Being Erica,” which follows a woman who travels back in time to events that have caused her regret, will debut in spring 2009 with 13 episodes.
“SoapNet remains committed to growing the soap genre and is increasing its original program offerings next year with new series that contain ‘soapy’ elements and complement the serialized drama found in our daytime and prime-time offerings,” Brian Frons, president of Disney ABC-Television Group, Daytime, said in a statement. “In speaking to our viewers, we have learned that they are on a path of self-discovery and each of our new series taps into that journey.”

  1. I would like to ask Mr.Frons why is it taking such a long time to announce the fate of my new favorite guilty pleasure “MVP”? I received no response from the emails that I sent to Marianne Fleshman regarding what the decision is about this show. A simple yes, no, or maybe on whether or not it returns would really go a long way to reestablishing credibility to the network regarding their”commitment to the soap genre and increasing its original programing” to all the fans of MVP. An acknowledgement of this email would be greatly appreciated!

  2. I love the way you write and also the theme on your blog. Did you code this yourself or was it done by a professional? I’m very very impressed.

  3. Great blog!! You should start many more. I love all the info provided. I will stay tuned 🙂

  4. I do notknow about these conclusions but I was glad to discover Xe/Blackwater incorporated around the Worst of 2009!

  5. That is certainly actually a grand notion Eddie Jacobs.
