OWN Taps Dolan as Chief Marketing Officer

OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network has appointed Liz Dolan as its chief marketing officer.
Ms. Dolan will be responsible for the brand identity of the network and its marketing efforts for the on-air launch in late 2009/early 2010. Her marketing responsibilities will extend to on-air, print, radio and online, in addition to integrated strategy concepts.
Ms. Dolan was corporate VP and director of global marketing for Nike. She also founded her own marketing consulting company, focusing on brands that serve women, and created syndicated talk radio show “Satellite Sisters” with her four sisters.
“Liz’s talent for capturing the true emotion of a brand is extraordinary,” Robin Schwartz, president of OWN, said in a statement. “In today’s crowded television environment, you must have a truly inspired marketing vision to capture the attention of viewers. We are confident that Liz will orchestrate the ideal plan to reach viewers who are looking for an inspiring, empowering and informative television and online experience.”
Ms. Dolan will report to Ms. Schwartz.
