Tennis Channel’s executive VP of programming and network strategy, Victoria Quoss, will focus on broader, large-scale network initiatives as part of the channel’s programming and network strategy division restructuring.
Ms. Quoss will focus on aggressive multiplatform development and international distribution growth. She will be based in the channel’s New York office.
Additionally, Laura Hockridge has been promoted to vice president of original programming and David Scott has been upped to vice president of programming. Both will be based in Los Angeles.
All three executives will report to Tennis Channel Chairman-CEO Ken Solomon.
“This transition represents the next exciting chapter in the Tennis Channel’s evolutionary book,” Mr. Solomon said in a statement. “In the past couple of years we’ve matured into a full-fledged television network, a tennis sports-and-lifestyle destination that offers all four of the Grand Slams; thousands of hours of tournament coverage, including the sport’s top 60; hundreds of hours of original series, specials and high-quality documentaries; and live, 24-hour HD sports content that’s second to none. Victoria has been a major contributor to this expansion, and now will turn her focus toward the network strategy function of her role with me. Likewise, I look forward to working closely with Laura and David as well, both of whom have done a tremendous amount to bring the department to the place it is today.”

  1. Not being vertically integrated affords TTC unique
partnering opportunities. ESPN has made the commitment to tennis at a time when the sport needs as much support as possible in the USA. At the same time USTA has hired Patrick McEnroe to
create some structural/developmental support. TTC has done a great job to date. As TTC examines it overall programming strategy/direction I encourage you to explore aggressively all possibilities to grow your distribution and appeal
including partnering with other programmers. I am a cable TV programming guy and an avid tennis player out of the Manker Patten Tennis Club in Chattanooga. Please let me know if you need some help or just want to chat. Programming development and distribution is what I did for HBO and Turner. I am now an independent consultant. Keep up the good work and Happy New Year.
