NATPE Live Video: Adalian, Baumann Lead Reality TV Panels

The National Association of Television Program Executives is providing live streaming of panels from the convention in Las Vegas this week.

The panels being streamed via Stickam include TelevisionWeek Editor Greg Baumann moderating a discussion at 1:30 p.m. PST on the future of reality on cable. At 3 p.m., Deputy Editor and Columnist Josef Adalian moderates “Reality Recession,” a discussion about the state of broadcast reality programming.

Mr. Baumann’s 1:30 p.m. panel, “Whose Reality Is It Anyway?,” will examine whether paranormal phenomena, real housewives and hidden-camera pranksters are the future of reality television.
Panelists include Bob Boden, senior VP, programming, production and development, Fox Reality Channel; Lisa Berger, executive VP, original programming and series development, E!; Marc Juris, executive VP and general manager, truTV/In Session; and Tony DiSanto, president of programming, MTV.
At 3 p.m., Mr. Adalian moderates “Think Tank: Reality Recession.” The panel will examine network reality’s lack of a new hit over recent seasons and what it will take for this now mature biz to reignite itself?
The panel will seat Vicki Dummer, senior VP, alternative series, specials and late night, ABC Entertainment; David Lyle, president, Fox Reality Channel; David Goffin, executive producer, FremantleMedia/Brilliant Entertainment; Paul Telegdy, executive VP, alternative programming, NBC and Universal Media Studios; and Mark Koops, managing director and co-head of domestic television, Reveille.
