NBC Universal Television Distribution has upped Ron Suter to executive vice president/general manager, Canada.
In addition, Mr. Suter has been named executive VP of Universal Studios Canada, overseeing Canadian television operations. He will be responsible for licensing NBCU’s theatrical and TV programming for English and French Canada.
Mr. Suter, who has been with NBC Universal since 1981, previously was senior VP and general sales manager, Canada, in addition to senior VP of Universal Studios Canada.
“Ron has done a tremendous job leading our Canadian sales team for many years now,” Barry Wallach, president of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, said in a statement. “He is truly an innovative dealmaker, and he’s been instrumental in expanding NBC Universal’s reach across a wide variety of platforms in the Canadian marketplace.”
Mr. Suter will continue to be based in Toronto.
