ABC Greenlights Comedic Superhero Series

Just weeks before the much-anticipated release of the feature film “Watchmen,” ABC has decided to move forward with a comedic take on the superheroes-among-us genre.
The network Tuesday said it has greenlit a remake of the British import “No Heroics,” a comedy that takes place in a world in which superheroes reside among ordinary folks. The four main characters, who boast B-list, semi-super abilities, try to balance their powers with their personal lives.
ABC Studios is producing the project, which is based on the 6-month-old Tiger Aspect/ITV2 comedy of the same name. Drew Pearce, who created the British show, will write and executive produce the American take, along with American writer Jeff Greenstein (“Friends”).
Andrew Zein of Tiger Aspect is on board as a nonwriting executive producer.
The British version of “No Heroics” featured characters such as the Hotness, Electroclash, Timebomb and She-Force. The series was nominated for best new British comedy by the British Comedy Awards.

  1. I liked it better when this show was called The Tick.

  2. The headline is a bit deceptive. My understanding is that ABC Family just greenlighted the pilot, not the series.

  3. I love the expression. Everyone needs to express there own opinion and feel free to hear others. Keep it up 🙂

  4. Love all the opinions expressed here! How is everyone? Love how everyone expresses whatr they feel 🙂

  5. Love the blog here. Nice colors. I am definitely staying tuned to this one. Hope to see more.
