Disney Channel’s “Night of Stars,” anchored by the premiere of original movie “Dadnapped,” helped the network gain ground over Nickelodeon’s launch of original movie “Spectacular!” on Monday.
“Dadnapped” posted 4.6 million total viewers, besting “Spectacular” by 39%. The Disney original also outscored the Nick premiere in kids 6-11 (2.1 million vs. 1.3 million) and kids 9-14 (1.8 million vs. 1.3 million).
“Dadnapped” set network records in the kid demographics for the time period.
Disney also boasted solid returns with new episodes of “The Wizards of Waverly Place” and “Hannah Montana.”
“Montana” grew from its last original episode by 19% in total viewers (3.7 million to 4.4 million). “Wizards” conjured up 4.5 million viewers, a network record in the time period.
