Republican strategist Mary Matalin has joined CNN as a political contributor.
She will appear on “Anderson Cooper 360,” “State of the Union With John King” and “The Situation Room With Wolf Blitzer.” She also will appear alongside her husband, CNN political contributor James Carville, on “State of the Union.” Their first joint appearance will be Sunday during a special “First 100 Days Edition.”
Ms. Matalin was an assistant to former President George W. Bush and counselor to former Vice President Dick Cheney. She also has been a co-host on CNN’s “Crossfire.”
“As one of the best-known and best-connected strategists in the country, Mary will join our lineup of top Republican analysts including Bill Bennett, Alex Castellanos and Ed Rollins,” Sam Feist, CNN political director and VP of Washington programming, said in a statement. “We are thrilled that CNN viewers will be able to tap into Mary’s vast political experience advising candidates and presidents from both inside and outside of the White House.”
