New Channels Fill Arab Airwaves

More than a half-dozen Arab satellite business channels have been launched during the past five years as rising oil prices have boosted financial interest in the region, Daily Variety reports. CNBC affiliate Arabiya, started in 2003, is the largest channel while Al-Arabiya airs six hours of business programming daily, the newspaper says.
