CBS CEO Les Moonves is the loser as Viacom teams with major studios Lionsgate, MGM and Paramount Pictures to create a premium TV network and video-on-demand service to launch in the fall of 2009, the Website Deadline Hollywood Daily says. The studios join Viacom after their contract renewal discussions with CBS’s Showtime were unsuccessful. Viacom, parent of Paramount, and CBS are both controlled by Sumner Redstone, adding to the intrigue.

  1. CBS will be much better off without Moonves and his ego driven, bad decisions.
The outragious over payment to him could go to many, much more appropriate, and profitable results.

  2. I think Moonves has done alot of good for CBS of the years, but time has passed him by and like Don Shula and Tom Landry, it time for change.
