‘Ice Road Truckers’ Find New Road

May 28, 2008  •  Post A Comment

The History Channel’s “Ice Road Truckers” will move to a road running from Inuvik, Canada, to Tuktoyaktuk after diamond mine owners wouldn’t let them return to the roads outside Yellowknife, the New York Post reports. The truckers will haul oil-exploration equipment instead of diamond-mining gear, the newspaper says. Officials for gem mining companies Diavik Diamonds and BHP are said to be unhappy with the way the show portrayed life on the ice road, issuing new rules against commercial filming on the road, the newspaper notes.
