Schwarzenegger Pushes for Tax Incentives

May 9, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger told reporters that California must increase tax incentives for movie and television studios in order to keep productions in state, the Hollywood Reporter says. He claimed lawmakers have been resistant to approve tax incentives despite his lobbying for them over the past four years, the newspaper says. Schwarzenegger’s comments stem from the news that “Ugly Betty” will move production from Los Angeles to New York, putting 300 crew members out of work in California, the newspaper notes.
