Cable operators like Time Warner Cable are taking a stand against cable networks that provide their content for free online, AdAge reports. Time Warner Cable is threatening to withhold the subscriber fees it pays to cable networks for content. Time Warner Cable claims the content is being unfairly streamed online for free, the newspaper says. Comcast, the biggest U.S. cable company, has taken a different approach to the increase in online streaming by launching the video site Fancast.com and making content partnerships with Hulu, the newspaper notes.
